Abstract Disclosed are a network topology discovery method and a node device. In the present application, the method comprises: a root node device sending a link discovery message to a sub-node device by means of a first port; receiving a link discovery response message sent by the sub-node device by means of a second port of the sub-node device, wherein the link discovery response message comprises an identification of the sub-node device and an identification of the second port; and determining a first link on the basis of the link discovery response message, wherein the first link is a link between the first port and the second port.
