Abstract This tungsten carbide powder has tungsten carbide as the main component thereof and also contains chromium, wherein, when the mass concentrations of the tungsten and the chromium are measured at 100 or more analysis points selected at random from a field of view in which the tungsten carbide powder is observed by SEM, the standard deviation σ of the distribution in the ratio of the concentration of the chromium to the total concentration of the tungsten and the chromium, expressed as a percentage, is 0.5 or less.
