Abstract | The purpose of the present invention is to provide a method for extracting particulate matter in smoke from a heated smoking article, an extraction container, an extraction liquid, and a toxicity testing method using the extraction liquid. The method of the present invention comprises: (1) collecting the particulate matter in the smoke from the heated smoking article into two or more filters that can capture the particulate matter; (2) stacking the two or more filters; and (3) extracting components attached to the stacked filters by squeezing the filters. An extraction container 1a of the present invention comprises: an accommodation part 8 that can accommodate two or more filers 7 in a stacked state; one or a plurality of squeezing members (2a, 3a) that squeeze the filters 7 accommodated in a state of being stacked in the accommodation part 8; and a reservoir 10 that communicates with the accommodation part 8.
