An apparatus for producing fibers from molten material includes a drive shaft rotatable about an axis, a slinger basket including a base, a side wall, and an interior void. The side wall extends axially upward from the base and includes a plurality of distribution holes. The interior void extends radially from the drive shaft to the side wall and extends axially from the base to an upper opening which extends radially outward from the drive shaft toward the upper flange. A spinner body is coupled with the slinger basket and includes a roof contacting and extending radially outward from the upper flange such that the upper opening is substantially unobstructed by the spinner body. A spinner side wall extends axially downward from the roof and includes a fiberizing region including a plurality of fiberizing holes provided therein. L'invention concerne un appareil pour la production de fibres à partir d'une matière fondue, qui comprend un arbre d'entraînement pouvant tourner autour d'un axe, un panier centrifugeur comprenant une base, une paroi latérale et une cavité intérieure. La paroi latérale s'étend axialement vers le haut à partir de la base et contient une pluralité de trous de distribution. La cavité intérieure s'étend radialement de l'arbre d'entraînement à la paroi latérale et s'étend axialement de la base à une ouverture supérieure qui s'étend radialement vers l'extérieur à partir de l'arbre d'entraînement vers la collerette supérieure. Un corps de centrifugeuse est couplé au panier centrifugeur et contient un toit qui entre en contact avec la collerette supérieure et s'étend radialement vers l'extérieur à partir de cette dernière de telle sorte que l'ouverture supérieure soit sensiblement non obstruée par le corps de centrifugeuse. Une paroi latérale de l'appareil centrifugeur s'étend axialement vers le bas à partir du toit et contient une région génératrice de fibres contenant une pluralité de trous de formation de fibres qui y sont disposés.
