La présente invention concerne des processus et des systèmes biologiques pour la production d'isopropanol et/ou d'acétone faisant appel à des alcools déshydrogénases modifiées qui présentent une activité accrue avec le NADH en tant que cofacteur. L'invention concerne en outre des polynucléotides et des polypeptides des alcools déshydrogénases modifiées, et des cellules hôtes contenant les polynucléotides et exprimant les polypeptides.
