Abstract Provided is a red fluorescent body that is represented by general formula: MSiAlN3 (where M represents at least one element selected from Mg, Ca, Sr, and Ba), a portion of M being substituted with Eu, and that has, as a host crystal, the same crystal structure as that of the CaAlSiN3 crystal phase, wherein the red fluorescent body has a bulk density of 0.70-2.30 g/cm3. Also, provided is a light-emitting element having the red fluorescent body and a semiconductor light-emitting element capable of exciting the red fluorescent body. L'invention concerne un corps fluorescent rouge qui est représenté par la formule générale : MSiAlN3 (dans laquelle M représente au moins un élément choisi parmi le Mg, le Ca, le Sr et le Ba), une partie de M étant substituée par de l'Eu, et qui présente, en tant que cristal hôte, la même structure cristalline que celle de la phase cristalline de CaAlSiN3, le corps fluorescent rouge ayant une masse volumique apparente allant de 0,70 à 2,30 g/cm3.
