Abstract | The content of oxygen in molten metallic copper is reduced during the copper refining process by adding pure carbon monoxide, produced by electrolysis of carbon dioxide in a solid oxide electrolysis cell (SOEC), thereby removing oxy- gen through the reduction of CuO to Cu. This way, the pu- rity of the metallic copper is increased.
L'invention concerne la réduction de la teneur en oxygène dans le cuivre métallique fondu pendant le procédé de raffinage de cuivre par ajout de monoxyde de carbone pur, produit par électrolyse de dioxyde de carbone dans une cellule d'électrolyse d'oxyde solide (SOEC), ce qui permet d'éliminer l'oxygène par la réduction de CuO en Cu. La pureté du cuivre métallique est ainsi augmentée. |
