Abstract A transformer (105a) is provided with: an iron core (201); a primary winding wire (211) to which an AC voltage is inputted; a secondary winding wire (212) from which an AC voltage is outputted, wherein a high DC voltage is applied to the secondary winding wire (212). First, the primary winding wire (211) is wound on the iron core (201), the secondary winding wire (212) is wound on the outer peripheral part thereof, and then the primary winding wire (211) is wound on the outer peripheral part thereof. Further, a covered portion of a covered wire constituting the primary winding wire (211) and a covered portion of a covered wire constituting the secondary winding wire (212) are substantially equal in thickness and made of the same insulating material.
