The present invention addresses the problem of providing a livestock feed or a livestock supplement, a lactobacillus bacteria growth promoter, and a lactobacillus bacterial growth promotion method with which it is possible to improve the intestinal environment of livestock, or more specifically increase the constituent ratio of lactobacillus bacteria among intestinal bacteria, without administering bacteria from the exterior. The present invention provides a livestock feed or a livestock supplement containing a Salacia plant, a Salacia plant extract, and/or pulverized Salacia plant, the livestock feed or livestock supplement being used to promote growth of lactobacillus bacteria in livestock.
