This railway vehicle steering truck is provided with: a truck frame; a wheel set; an axle box supporting device; a steering mechanism that steers the wheel set; a brake unit; and a brake unit supporting link. The brake unit has a body frame and a brake shoe, which is supported by the body frame and pressed against the wheel tread during braking. The brake unit supporting link couples the axle box supporting device and the brake unit, and transmits the displacement in the vehicle longitudinal direction of an axle box to the brake unit at least during the steering by the steering mechanism. The brake unit supporting link restrains the brake unit from being displaced a predetermined amount or more outward in the vehicle width direction during braking. The side surface of the brake unit supporting link and/or the side surface of the brake unit has a sliding surface.
