Summary:A positive electrode active material according to the present invention contains composite particles each formed of: a particle including a lithium transition metal composite oxide that contains Li and Co; and a layer that is disposed on the surface of the particle and contains an oxide including Li, Ni, and Mn. A certain concentration distribution exists for Ni and Mn from the surface to the center of each of the composite particles. In a depth range in which ratio d (%) satisfies 0.04%≤d≤0.20%, molar fraction rn and molar fraction rm are respectively within the ranges of 0.05≤rn and 0.05≤rm, and ratio rn2/rn1 and ratio rm2/rm1 are respectively within the ranges of 0.85≤rn2/rn1≤1.0 and 0.85≤rm2/rm1≤1.0. Un matériau actif d'électrode positive selon la présente invention contient des particules composites formées chacune : d'une particule comprenant un oxyde composite de lithium et de métal de transition qui contient Li et Co ; et d'une couche qui est disposée sur la surface de la particule et contient un oxyde comprenant Li, Ni et Mn. Il existe une certaine distribution de concentration pour Ni et Mn, de la surface au centre de chacune des particules composites. Dans une plage de profondeur dans laquelle un rapport d (%) satisfait la relation 0,04 % ≤ d ≤ 0,20 %, une fraction molaire rn et une fraction molaire rm sont respectivement comprises dans les plages de 0,05 ≤ rn et 0,05 ≤ rm, et un rapport rn2/rn1 et un rapport rm2/rm1 sont respectivement dans les plages de 0,85 ≤ rn2/rn1 ≤ 1,0 et 0,85 ≤ rm2/rm1 ≤ 1,0.  正極活物質は、LiおよびCoを含むリチウム遷移金属複合酸化物を含む粒子と、この粒子の表面に設けられ、Li、NiおよびMnを含む酸化物を含む層とを備える複合粒子を含み、NiおよびMnが、複合粒子の表面から中心に向かう濃度分布を有する。比率d(%)が0.04%≦d≦0.20%を満たす深さ範囲において、モル分率rn、モル分率rmがそれぞれ0.05≦rn、0.05≦rmの範囲内にあり、比率rn2/rn1、比率rm2/rm1がそれぞれ0.85≦rn2/rn1≦1.0、0.85≦rm2/rm1≦1.0の範囲内にある。
