Abstract The present invention provides a method and a device for encrypting a memory card. The method for encrypting a memory card comprises: when encrypting a memory card, generating a key corresponding to the memory card; storing the key at different storage positions according to the encryption level selected by a user; and using the key to encrypt the memory card. By means of the technical solution of the present invention, a user can select the encryption level of a SD card freely according to individual demands, and the user experience of encryption of the SD card is improved.
