La présente invention concerne une composition lubrifiante comprenant au moins un bêta-glucane, éventuellement sous la forme de l'un de ses dérivés, au moins une huile de base, au moins un composant de type additif et, éventuellement, de l'eau ; l'utilisation desdites compositions lubrifiantes pour limiter l'usure en cas de contact entre deux métaux et l'utilisation d'au moins un bêta-glucane pour faire baisser le coefficient de frottement associé à une composition lubrifiante.
