Abstract A method of reducing static charge of a plastic container is provided. The method includes providing a PECVD coating of SiCOH, SiOx or SiOH to an external support surface of the container. The PECVD coating reduces static charge of the container compared to a reference container that is essentially identical to the container except that the reference container is uncoated. La présente invention concerne un procédé de réduction de la charge électrostatique d'un contenant en plastique. Le procédé comprend l'application d'un revêtement PECVD, dépôt chimique en phase vapeur activé par plasma, de SiCOH, SiOx ou SiOH sur une surface de support externe du contenant. Le revêtement PECVD permet de réduire la charge électrostatique du contenant par rapport à un contenant de référence qui est essentiellement identique au contenant, si ce n'est que ledit contenant de référence n'est pas revêtu.
