Abstract A composition is prepared by melt blending specific amounts of polyamide, acid-functionalized poly(phenylene ether), polyimide-polysiloxane block copolymer, and metal dialkylphosphinate. The composition, which exhibits improved flame retardancy and tensile modulus relative to known blends of poly(phenylene ether), polyamide, and polyimide, is useful for forming electrical components, such as photovoltaic junction boxes and connectors, inverter housings, automotive electrical connectors, electrical relays, and charge couplers. Une composition est préparée en mélangeant à l'état fondu des quantités spécifiques d'un polyamide, d'un poly (phénylène éther) fonctionnalisé acide, d'un copolymère séquencé polysiloxane-polyimide, et d'un dialkylphosphinate métallique.
