An external person can, through the outside image, perceive the state of the user, what the user is doing, what the user is viewing, and to what degree the user is concentrating on or is immersed in viewing. The user wearing the device can also, through the outside image, report the state of the user and information relating to the content being viewed. La présente invention se rapporte à un dispositif d'affichage d'image qui est monté sur la tête et utilisé pour permettre de voir une image, le dispositif d'affichage d'image présentant également diverses informations à des personnes autres que l'utilisateur. Le dispositif d'affichage d'image selon la présente invention comporte une fonctionnalité permettant d'afficher une image intérieure visible depuis la perspective d'un utilisateur qui porte le dispositif, ainsi qu'une fonctionnalité permettant d'afficher une image extérieure visible depuis l'extérieur du dispositif. Une personne extérieure peut, au moyen de l'image extérieure, percevoir l'état de l'utilisateur, ce que l'utilisateur fait, ce que l'utilisateur voit, et à quel degré l'utilisateur se concentre sur le visionnement ou est immergé dans ce visionnement. L'utilisateur qui porte le dispositif peut également, au moyen de l'image extérieure, rapporter l'état dans lequel il se trouve et des informations qui se rapportent au contenu qui est vu.
