Summary:Compositions and methods for heavy metal remediation are disclosed. The compositions contain ceramic nanoparticulate cation exchangers specific for at least one heavy metal as well as at least one carrier, typically a thickener, a gel forming agent and/or a cross-binding agent. The compositions may also contain chelating agents as well as beneficial agents such as vitamins and pharmaceuticals, with or without the ceramic nanoparticulate cation exchangers. La présente invention concerne des compositions et des procédés pour éliminer les métaux lourds. Les compositions contiennent des échangeurs de cations à nanoparticules céramiques spécifiques à au moins un métal lourd ainsi qu'au moins un véhicule, typiquement un épaississant, un agent gélifiant et/ou un agent de réticulation. Les compositions peuvent aussi contenir des chélateurs ainsi que des agents bénéfiques tels que des vitamines et des médicaments, avec ou sans les échangeurs de cations à nanoparticules céramiques.
