| Abstract | A coherent polarization diversity receiver is disclosed in which the phase angle difference between the first polarized input signal and the first polarized local oscillator signal is determined and also the phase angle difference between the second polarized input signal and the second polarized local oscillator signal is determined and based on this information a portion of the generated first and second electrical output signals is selected to produce the final output signal for further processing.
