Abstract A feed device (2) feeds a mandrel (7) towards a heat transfer pipe (6) while holding said mandrel (7). The feed device (2) is disposed in the vicinity of a holding device (1). In this way, the mandrel (7) is subjected to the thrust of the feed device (2) in the vicinity of the heat transfer pipe (6). The thrust towards the mandrel (7) is therefore imparted in the vicinity of the heat transfer pipe (6), so buckling of the mandrel (7) can be prevented when the mandrel (7) is pressed into the heat transfer pipe (6) in order to expand the heat transfer pipe (6). L'invention concerne un appareil caractérisé en ce qu'un dispositif (2) d'avance fait avancer un mandrin (7) vers un tuyau (6) de transfert de chaleur tout en maintenant ledit mandrin (7). Le dispositif (2) d'avance est disposé au voisinage d'un dispositif (1) de maintien. De cette façon, le mandrin (7) est soumis à la poussée du dispositif (2) d'avance au voisinage du tuyau (6) de transfert de chaleur. La poussée en direction du mandrin (7) est donc communiquée au voisinage du tuyau (6) de transfert de chaleur, ce qui permet d'empêcher le flambage du mandrin (7) lorsque le mandrin (7) est enfoncé dans le tuyau (6) de transfert de chaleur afin de dilater ledit tuyau (6) de transfert de chaleur.
