The coupling pairs are advantageously movable relative to each other to permit nerve swelling, inhibit nerve compression, and facilitate delivery of pharmaceutical agents. L'invention porte sur un appareil pour la coaptation d'un premier et d'un second segment de nerf coupé. L'appareil comprend une pluralité de caractéristiques de mise en prise avec un nerf ou d'éléments de couplage qui sont reliés chacun à un autre élément de couplage pour former des paires de couplage. Avantageusement, les paires de couplage peuvent se déplacer les unes par rapport aux autres afin de permettre un gonflement de nerf, d'inhiber une compression de nerf et de faciliter l'administration d'agents pharmaceutiques.
