Provided is a non-woven fabric that has favorable workability, superior flexibility, and high width dimensional stability, and that is suitable as a top sheet, back sheet, side gathering section, or the like of an absorbent article used in a sanitary item. The non-woven fabric comprises a thermoplastic fiber and is characterized by the fiber orientation in the non-woven fabric being 1.05-2.0 inclusive by the MOR value of the degree of molecular orientation, and the stress when extended 3% of the non-woven fabric being 2-10 N/5cm inclusive. La présente invention concerne un non-tissé possédant une aptitude au façonnage favorable, une flexibilité supérieure, et une stabilité dimensionnelle de largeur élevée, et approprié comme feuille supérieure, feuille de support, et section de recueil latérale, ou analogues d'un élément absorbant utilisé dans un article sanitaire. Le non-tissé comporte une fibre thermoplastique et est caractérisé en ce que l'orientation de la fibre dans le non-tissé est comprise entre 1,05 et 2,0 inclusivement selon la valeur MOR du degré d'orientation moléculaire, et la contrainte lors d'une extension de 3% du non-tissé est comprise entre 2 et 10 N/5cm inclusivement.
