Abstract | Provided is a novel developer capable of achieving a heat-sensitive recording material having extremely high color development sensitivity, providing good image density even when printing at a low applied energy (in other words, high build-up sensitivity), and having excellent heat resistance and plasticizer resistance. Also provided is a heat-sensitive recording material that uses said developer. A phenolsulfonic acid aryl ester is represented by the general formula (1) below. La présente invention concerne un nouveau révélateur permettant d'obtenir un matériau d'enregistrement thermosensible qui présente une sensibilité extrêmement élevée au développement chromogène, qui produit une bonne densité d'image même pour une impression à basse énergie (c'est-à-dire une sensibilité accumulée élevée), et est excellent en termes de résistance thermique et qui possède d'excellentes propriétés de résistance à la chaleur et aux plastifiants.
