Abstract | An image display panel (20) is provided with a plurality of pixels (60). When a planar image is displayed, the pixels (60) become one pixel for displaying the planar image. The plurality of pixels (60) comprise pixels (60a) including right-eye image pixels (62) and black image pixels (63), and pixels (60b) including left-eye image pixels (64) and the black image pixels (63). When a stereoscopic image is displayed, the right-eye image pixels (62) become one pixel for displaying a right-eye image, the left-eye image pixels (64) become one pixel for displaying a left-eye image, and the black image pixels (63) become one pixel for displaying a black image, the black image pixels (63) being arranged between the right-eye image pixels (62) and the left-eye image pixels (64). As a result, reduction in the aperture ratio is prevented when the planar image is displayed, and generation of crosstalk is prevented when the stereoscopic image is displayed.
