The present invention relates to a process for preparing a trichloroammineplatinate salt by reacting a tetrachloroplatinate salt in aqueous solution in the presence of ammonium chloride and an alkali chloride with one or more carbonate salts selected from the group consisting of potassium, sodium and ammonium carbonate while keeping the pH value below 7 during the reaction; the product obtained therein and a use thereof. La présente invention a pour objet un procédé de préparation d'un sel trichloroammineplatinate en faisant réagir un sel tétrachloroplatinate dans une solution aqueuse en présence de chlorure d'ammonium et d'un chlorure d'alcali avec un ou plusieurs sels carbonates choisis dans le groupe comprenant le carbonate de potassium, de sodium et d'ammonium tout en maintenant la valeur du pH au-dessous de 7 au cours de la réaction ; le produit obtenu dans ce procédé et son utilisation.
