Lubricant stirring loss can be reduced by reducing amount of supply of lubricant to a gap between an outer periphery of a shaft and an inner periphery of a pad. On an inner surface of a lower half of a carrier ring (17) are provided a plurality of pads (13a,13b),each spaced apart from each other to received shaft loads and a plurality of pad stoppers (14a,14b,14c,14d,15) at the peripheral ends of each of the plurality of pads (13a,13b)to restrain a peripheral motion of each of the pads (13a,13b). Among the pad stoppers (14a,14b,14c,14d,15), the pad stoppers (14a,14b,14c,14d) except the last stopper (15) with respect the direction of rotation of the shaft serve as a nozzle to eject lubricant to the gap between the outer periphery of the shaft and the inner periphery of the pads (13a,13b). Les pertes de lubrifiant par brassage peuvent être réduites en diminuant la quantité de lubrifiant délivré à un espace entre une périphérie externe d'un arbre et une périphérie interne d'un patin. Sur une surface interne d'une moitié inférieure d'un anneau de support (17) sont formés une pluralité de patins (13a, 13b) qui sont chacun espacés les uns des autres afin de recevoir les charges de l'arbre, et une pluralité d'éléments d'arrêt de patins (14a,14b,14c,14d,15) aux extrémités périphériques de chacun desdits patins (13a, 13b) afin de limiter le déplacement périphérique de chacun des patins (13a, 13b). Parmi les éléments d'arrêt de patins (14a,14b,14c,14d,15), les éléments d'arrêt de patins (14a,14b,14c,14d), à l'exception du dernier élément d'arrêt de patin (15) par rapport au sens de rotation de l'arbre, servent de buse afin d'éjecter du lubrifiant dans l'espace entre la périphérie externe de l'arbre et la périphérie interne des patins (13a, 13b).
