The invention relates to a seal unit (4) for providing a seal between two construction elements (1;2). Said seal unit includes a sealing material (5) capable of reversibly deforming and means (6-9) for exerting a controlled compression on the sealing material so as to cause the corresponding deformation of the sealing material, substantially transverse to the compression. L'invention propose un bloc joint (4) destiné à assurer une étanchéité entre deux éléments de construction (1;2). Ce bloc joint comprend un matériau étanche (5) apte à se déformer de manière réversible et des moyens (6-9) pour exercer une compression contrôlée sur le matériau étanche de façon à provoquer une déformation correspondante du matériau étanche sensiblement transversale à la compression.
