Abstract Phenylphosphorylcholine derivatives represented by general formula [1]; a method for calcium ion determination, characterized by mixing a derivative described above with phospholipase D in the presence of phosphomonoesterase to initiate a reaction, measuring the absorbance increase rate, and determining the quantity of calcium ion on the basis of the absorbance increase rate; reagents and kits for calcium ion determination, which contain the derivatives; and reagents for the determination of phospholipase D: [1] wherein R1 to R4 are each independently hydrogen, halogeno, halogenated alkyl, or carboxy, with the proviso that at least one of R1 to R4 is halogeno, halogenated alkyl, or carboxy.
