Abstract An OLED device comprises a cathode, (113) a light emitting layer (109) and an anode, (101) in that order, and (i) a first layer, (111) located between the cathode and the light emitting layer, containing (a) more than 50 vol% of an organic salt or complex of an alkali or alkaline earth metal and (b) a carbocyclic fused ring aromatic compound, that is less than 15 nm thick; and (ii) a second layer, (112) located between the first layer and the cathode, containing a codeposited phenanthroline derivative, metal oxinoid complex, and alkali or alkaline earth metal. The device provides excellent short-term operational stability. La présente invention concerne un dispositif à diodes électroluminescentes organiques comportant une cathode, une couche émettrice de lumière et une anode, dans cet ordre, et (i) une première couche, située entre la cathode et la couche émettrice de lumière, contenant (a) plus de 50% en volume d'un sel ou complexe organique d'un métal alcalin ou alcalino-terreux et (b) un composé aromatique carbocyclique à cycles accolés, qui présente une épaisseur inférieure à 15 nm; et (ii) une seconde couche, située entre la première couche et la cathode, contenant un dérivé de la phénanthroline, un complexe métallique oxynoïde, un métal alcalin ou alcalino-terreux déposés conjointement.
