A sealing structure having excellent sealing ability for sealing between two members, such as quartz (or ceramic) and metal, used for devices that produce semiconductors and liquid crystals and having different linear expansion coefficients. The sealing structure can maintain high sealing performance even if heat cycles are repeated, does not cause breakage of a mating member made of quartz (or ceramic), and has long service life. A plate-like brittle member (1) made of quartz is sandwiched and held in an elastically isolated state by a metal main seal (10) and a metal sub seal (20). La présente invention concerne une structure d'étanchéité présentant une excellente capacité d'étanchéification pour assurer l'étanchéité entre deux éléments, tels qu'un quartz (ou une céramique) et un métal, utilisée pour des dispositifs qui produisent des semiconducteurs et des cristaux liquides et dotée de différents coefficients d'expansion linéaire. La structure d'étanchéité peut maintenir une performance élevée d'étanchéité même si des thermocycles sont répétés, elle ne cause aucune rupture d'un élément d'accouplement fait de quartz (ou de céramique) et a une longue durée de vie. Un élément cassant de type plaque (1) fait de quartz est inséré et maintenu dans un état élastiquement isolé par un joint d'étanchéité métallique principal (10) et un joint d'étanchéité métallique auxiliaire (20).
