Abstract A device for measuring the temperature distribution of an optical fiber comprising a light source for making a pulse light incident to an optical fiber to be measured, a signal detecting section for detecting the intensity of a predetermined light included in a back scattering light generated in the optical fiber to be measured based on incidence of the pulse light, and a signal processing section for calculating a value dependent on the increment of light transmission loss due to absorption of hydrogen by the optical fiber to be measured based on the detection intensity of predetermined light, and correcting the intensity of the predetermined light dependent on the temperature of the optical fiber to be measured based on the calculated value. A method for measuring the temperature distribution of an optical fiber is also provided. L'invention concerne un dispositif de mesure de la répartition de température dans une fibre optique. Ledit dispositif comprend une source de luminière conçue pour projeter des impulsions lumineuses dans la fibre optique à mesurer; un moyen de détection de signal conçu pour détecter l'intensité d'une lumière prédéterminée dans une lumière rétrodiffusée générée dans la fibre optique à mesurer à partir des impulsions de lumière projetées; et un moyen de traitement de signal conçu pour calculer, à partir de l'intensité détectée de la lumière prédéterminée, une valeur correspondant à l'augmentation des pertes de transmission de lumière dues à l'absorption d'hydrogène par la fibre optique à mesurer, et pour corriger, à partir de la valeur calculée, l'intensité de la lumière prédéterminée en fonction la température de la fibre optique à mesurer.
