L'invention concerne un récepteur optique cohérent. Dans un mode de réalisation, le récepteur optique cohérent possède une configuration hétérodyne et, dans un autre mode de réalisation, une configuration homodyne. Dans chaque configuration, le récepteur optique cohérent fait appel à une signalisation de rétroaction multiple et/ou à un traitement analogique/numérique dans le but d'optimiser les sorties RF des voies I et Q en réponse à un signal optique modulé.
