L'invention concerne un procédé (et la structure résultante) pour former une pluralité de masques, lequel procédé consiste à créer une forme de référence, en utilisant la lithographie par impression pour imprimer au moins un repère d'alignement de la forme de référence sur l'ensemble d'une pluralité d'ébauches de masques pour un jeu de puces donné, à imprimer des sous-motifs sur chacune des ébauches de masques et à aligner ces sous-motifs sur ledit au moins un repère d'alignement de la forme de référence.
