Abstract Disclosed is an aqueous primer composition essentially containing a water-dispersible polyisocyanate (A) and an aqueous acrylic resin dispersion (B). The weight average molecular weight of the acrylic resin in the aqueous acrylic resin dispersion (B) in terms of polystyrene, which is determined by gel permeation chromatography, is not less than 350,000, and the glass transition temperature of the acrylic resin determined by differential scanning calorimetry is 15-130°C. The weight ratio between the water-dispersible polyisocyanate (A) and the aqueous acrylic resin dispersion (B) is from 70:30 to 50:50 in terms of solid content.
