Abstract | The present invention provides a display system that eliminates the need for a cabinet enclosure and allows for the projection of images towards an image screen at greater angles of incidence than previously achievable while maintaining image quality. Embodiments of the present invention reduce the emission of ambient or extraneous light from the image screen through the use of the refracting properties of the screen. The display system may utilize a transparent or translucent screen support that gives the appearance of a floating display. The image screen is specially configured through the use of a double lenticular lens such as a Fresnel lens using asymmetric prisms combined with a substantially opaque layer and a diffusing layer.
La présente invention concerne un système d'affichage qui élimine la nécessité d'avoir un boîtier sous forme d'enceinte et permet de projeter les images sur un écran d'imagerie à des angles d'incidence plus grands que dans les techniques existantes tout en préservant la qualité de l'image. Les modes de réalisation de la présente invention permettent de réduire l'émission de la lumière ambiante ou externe depuis l'écran d'imagerie grâce à l'utilisation des propriétés de réfraction de l'écran. Le système d'affichage peut utiliser un écran transparent ou translucide qui donne l'impression d'un afficheur flottant.
