A method is described for writing an optical disc (2) having a user storage space (USS). The method comprising the steps of: -determining a reserved storage section (VRSS 80) of the user storage space (USS) for use by a specific application; -determining which parts (81) of said reserved storage section (VRSS 80) are free for writing, i.e. not occupied; -allocating all addresses in those free parts (81) to a reservation file (VRF). La présente invention a trait à un procédé d'écriture d'un disque optique (2) comportant un espace de stockage d'utilisateur (USS). Le procédé comporte les étapes suivantes : la détermination d'une section de stockage réservée (VRSS 80) de l'espace de stockage d'utilisateur (USS) destinée à être utilisée par une application spécifique ; la détermination des portions (81) de ladite section de stockage réservée (VRSS 80) qui sont libres pour l'écriture, c'est à dire non occupées ; l'allocation de toutes les adresses dans ces portions libres (81) à un fichier de réservation (VRF).
