Abstract An objective lens drive device, wherein magnets (41, 42) are installed on a lens holder (1) supported movably along a pivot shaft (6) parallel with the optical axis of an objective lens (3) and rotatably about the pivot shaft, and yokes (91, 92) having opposed parts (91a, 92a) opposed to the magnetic poles of the magnets (41, 42) and extension parts (91b, 92b) extending in directions apart from the magnets (41, 42) are installed on a base (5) allowing the pivot shaft to be vertically installed therethrough so as to hold focusing coils (71, 72) having sides opposed to the magnets (41, 42) and tracking coils (81, 82) between the magnets (41, 42), and the yokes (91, 92).
