A high efficiency ultrasonic surgical aspiration tip apparatus (10) and accompanying method for use. The apparatus (10) has one or more substantially "V" or "U" shaped (22) cuts (20) in a contacting. The apparatus (10) and method of use provides a cutting action at the contacting end (18) when the tip is ultrasonically excited. The apparatus (10) and method of use further provides a substantially uniform ultrasonic and aspiration field due to the positioning and shape of the substantially "V" or "U" shaped (22) cuts (20). The aforesaid further allows a surgeon to position the ultrasonic generator handpiece (38) at any rotational angle for provision of the benefits cited. L'invention concerne un appareil chirurgical de haute efficacité à pointe d'aspiration par ultrasons ainsi que son procédé d'utilisation associé. Cet appareil est pourvu d'une ou de plusieurs entailles essentiellement en "V" ou en "U" à l'extrémité de contact. Selon l'invention, l'extrémité de contact permet une opération de coupe lorsque la pointe est soumise aux ultrasons. En outre, le champ d'aspiration et des ultrasons est sensiblement uniforme, grâce à la position et à la forme des entailles essentiellement en "V" ou en "U". Ceci permet à un chirurgien de positionner la pièce à main génératrice d'ultrasons à un angle de rotation quelconque.
