Abstract A microdermabrasion composition is provided. The composition preferably has 2-60 weight percent surfactant, 5-60 weight percent volatile silicone oil, 8-50 weight percent anhydrous solvent, and 1-25 weight percent water soluble salt. The water soluble salt is most preferably sodium chloride. The composition is effective and safe for in-home microdermabrasion. A kit including such a microdermabrasion composition and an applicator sponge, and a method of microdermabrasion are also provided.
