Summary: | A voltage sensor comprises a helicoidal winding formed by an optic fiber having at least one zone sensitive or sensitized to an electrical field having a 2nd order non-linear electro optic effect. The sensitization process of the optic fiber can be achieved by a polarization process under an electric field. The voltage sensor preferably comprises a device enabling the electrical field lines to be homogenized in the region where the helical winding is located. The phase difference induced by the optic wave by electro optic effect caused by the electrical field and representative of the voltage to be measured, can be measured by polarimetric or interferometric detection. |
