Summary:The present invention provides a recombinant vector for phytolacca antiviral protein isolated from Phytolacca americana L. and a process for preparing transgenic plants transformed therewith. The transgenic plants of the invention were properly transformed with the recombinant vector; PAP was expressed from the transgenic plants in a successful manner; and, virus proliferation was efficiently inhibited by the expressed PAP in the transgenic plants.
