Abstract 1399488 Photographic silver halide materials FUJI PHOTO FILM CO Ltd 6 Oct 1972 [8 Oct 1971] 46344/72 Heading G2C [Also in Division C2] A photographic silver halide element comprising a layer or layers on a support, contains in the emulsion layer or another layer a compound of the Formula:- where R is a saturated or unsaturated hydrocarbon group of 7-21 carbons, R1 and R2 are each alkyl, hydroxyalkcyl or a polyalkylene oxide group of 1-18 carbons, R3 and R4 are each hydrogen or alkyl of 1-4 carbons n is an integer of 2 or more and x is 0 or 1, the layer containing the said compound also containing as a hydrophilic binder, gelatin, albumin, a polysaccharide, a cellulose derivative, a polyacrylamide or a mixture thereof, or said layer containing a hydrophobic binder. The compounds may be used as antistatic agents in the emulsion layer or in a layer on the opposite side of the support, and as coating aids.
