Summary:A flap-type closure for a device for the feeding of sponge iron to a transport vessel, adapted to receive the product of a furnace for the direct reduction of iron ore, comprises a substantially horizontal annular seat and a substantially horizontal pivot shaft connected to the flap by a swingable arm. A pin between the arm and the flap allows relative swiveling motion of the flap with respect to the arm, and the flap is convex toward the seat to provide selfcentering positioning of the flap against the seat.
