Summary:1,066,923. Automatic exchange systems. AUTOMATIC ELECTRIC LABORATORIES Inc. May 28, 1965 [June 5, 1964], No. 22800/65. Heading H4K. An exchange partly equipped with directcontrolled step-by-stepswitches and partly with marker-controlled cross-point switches includes party lines arranged so that a station may be moved from a line served by one type of equipment to one served by the other type without change of directory number. In the case of the step-by-step equipment there is one terminal per station, the terminals being grouped on an IDF to form a party line. In the case of the marker-controlled equipment the dialled number is translated into a line terminal location member together with a party identity indication. To permit the movement of a station from one type of equipment to the other a number of adapters are provided for connection between corresponding test terminals of the two equipments in order to repeat a busy mark from one to the other. Such an adapter may be used also when it is required to divert calls from one line to another belonging to the same subscriber. Specification 1,053,347 is referred to.
