Abstract | The invention relates to an additive composition, wherein the additive composition comprises anti-oxidants and an asphaltene dispersant, wherein the anti-oxidants are tris (2,4-ditert butyl) phenyl phosphite and 3,3′-thiodipropionic acid dioctadecylester, and wherein the asphaltene dispersant is polyethylene glycol monoalkyl ether. The invention additionally relates to a bituminous composition comprising anti-oxidants and an asphaltene dispersant, wherein the anti-oxidants are tris (2,4-ditert butyl) phenyl phosphite and 3,3′-thiodipropionic acid dioctadecylester, and wherein the asphaltene dispersant is polyethylene glycol monoalkyl ether. The invention also relates to an asphalt composition comprising the bituminous composition with resistance to short-term and long-term chemical ageing. The invention further relates to the use of an additive composition to reduce short-term and long-term chemical ageing of the bituminous compositions. |
