Summary:Thermoplastic molding composition comprises: (A) 20-88 wt.% of thermoplastic material consisting of polyamide or a mixture of polyamides, provided that up to 40% of thermoplastic material is replaced by other thermoplastic material not based on polyamide; (B) 10-60 wt.% of fibrous aggregates; (C) 2-10 wt.% of laser direct structuring additive or a mixture of LDS additives; (D) 0-30 wt.% of particulate filler; and (E) 0-2 wt.% of further additives. Thermoplastic molding composition comprises: (A) 20-88 wt.% of thermoplastic material consisting of polyamide or a mixture of polyamides, provided that up to 40% of thermoplastic material is replaced by other thermoplastic material not based on polyamide; (B) 10-60 wt.% of fibrous aggregates; (C) 2-10 wt.% of laser direct structuring additive or a mixture of laser direct structuring additives; (D) 0-30 wt.% of particulate filler; and (E) 0-2 wt.% of further additives. The component (B) comprises (B1) 10-60 wt.% of glass fiber comprising glass fibers (B1 1) having a non-circular cross section, where an axial ratio of the major cross sectional axis to the minor cross sectional axis is at least 2 and/or high-strength glass fibers (B1 2) having a glass composition including silicon dioxide, aluminum dioxide and magnesium oxide, (B2) 0-20 wt.% of glass fibers with a circular cross section different from the glass fibers of component (B1), and (B3) 0-20 wt.% of other fibrous aggregates not based on glass different from the fibers of components (B1) and (B2). The fibrous aggregates comprise carbon fibers, graphite fibers, aramid fibers, and nanotubes.
