Summary:An information processing apparatus comprises an image capturing unit configured to output a maximum tone value for each tone point at which exposure exceeds a saturation light amount; a calculation unit configured to calculate individual tone intersections by interpolating tone distributions of a first and second luminance pattern lights that were output by the image capturing unit; and a light quantity adjustment unit configured to adjust the quantity of light that enters the image sensor such that the tone values of tone points that are adjacent to the tone intersections and are used in calculation of the individual tone intersections are lower than the maximum tone value, and the tone value of at least one tone point other than the adjacent tone points is equal to the maximum tone value.
