Abstract This electric power generation system comprises a power generator configured to generate electric power using renewable energy, a battery configured to store electric power generated by the power generator, a detector configured to acquire a first power amount data for every first time interval and a second power amount data for every second time interval which is shorter than the first time interval, and a controller configured to determine whether to perform a charge and discharge control of the battery based on the second power amount data, to compute a target output value for the electric power to be supplied to the electric power transmission system based on the first power amount data when the charge and discharge control is performed, to charge or discharge the line with electric power from the battery so that the target output value is supplied to the electric power transmission system.
