Abstract | A nonaqueous electrolyte battery is provided and includes a positive electrode having a positive electrode active material layer containing a positive electrode active material formed on at least one surface of a positive electrode collector, a negative electrode having a negative electrode active material layer containing a negative electrode active material formed on at least one surface of a negative electrode collector, a separator provided between the positive electrode and the negative electrode, and an electrolyte. A coating film in a gel form containing an amorphous polyacid and/or polyacid compound containing one or more kinds of a polyelement is formed on the surface of at least a part of the negative electrode. Also, at least one of the polyacid and the polyacid compound contains a polyatom ion with a valence of 6 and a polyatom ion with a valence of less than 6. |
