Abstract | The present disclosure relates to a pre-5th-Generation (5G) or 5G communication system to be provided for supporting higher data rates Beyond 4th-Generation (4G) communication system such as long term evolution (LTE). An apparatus of a terminal in a wireless communication system is provided. The apparatus includes at least one transceiver and at least one processor operably coupled to the at least one transceiver. The at least one processor performs a frequency scanning through a first beam set, identifies at least one cell based on the frequency scanning, and communicates with the at least one identified cell through a second beam set. |
