Abstract | A system is configured to prevent damage from liquid spills in a humidified pressure support therapy device. The system includes a decoupler configured to decouple a humidification chamber in a humidifier from a pressure generator of the pressure support therapy device in response to a cover of the humidifier being opened. This eliminates and/or reduces the possibility of liquid in an overfilled humidification chamber unintentionally and/or otherwise entering the pressure generator and damaging sensitive mechanical and/or electrical components. In some embodiments, the system includes one or more of a pressure generator, a humidifier, a subject interface, a sensor, the decoupler, a processor, electronic storage, a user interface, and/or other components. |
